Summer in a Jar - A Fermentation Primer

Service Description

Join Rich Shih to learn basic fermentation and preservation techniques to celebrate your seasonal fruits and vegetables using what you likely already have in your kitchen. He will demonstrate how to make Japanese inspired pickles, honey ferments, tepache, miso macerated fruit and more. It will open your eyes to how simply you can make delicious flavors with just some jars and time. Make and take home a ferment of your own! Rich will also be signing copies of Koji Alchemy and will have Koji Builds Community t-shirts for sale! Rich Shih is the co-author of Koji Alchemy and one of the leading culinary explorers of koji and miso in the United States. As a food preservation consultant, he helps chefs to build their larders and leverage fermentation to decrease waste. His blog, OurCookQuest, welcomes cooks of all experience levels to learn, share knowledge, and exchange ideas.
