Dandelion Speaker Series

Like dandelion seeds blowing in a breeze - farmers, composters, beekeepers, and food systems professionals alike are on a journey and are cultivating stories, ideas, relationships, and wisdom as they go.

This conversation series is designed for curious folks who are new to the field of farm-based education. Each week will feature a speaker who will discuss their paths into the world of agriculture, how their work impacts human and ecological health, and the ways food system work and social justice are interwoven.

Conversations will be livestreamed via a YouTube link so they can be watched live or anytime after the recording. Access to the speaker series is free, please RSVP so that we can share a link to each conversation. Educator Eric Dawson of the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center will moderate the conversations.

Summer High School Internship

Interns at Yellow Farmhouse Education Center work alongside leading educators, farmers, chefs, and food entrepreneurs to explore a variety of career paths in the local food movement. Our internship program empowers young people to make positive decisions to support their health, the health of their community, and the health of the environment. By teaching youth programs, working on a sustainable vegetable farm, and educating consumers about local foods, interns develop skills to move confidently towards a career aligned to their interests. In addition to gaining hands-on work experience, interns participate in a staff development program designed to expand their knowledge of concepts such as sustainable agriculture and food justice. For more information, contact info@yellowfarmhouse.org.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities to support the Yellow Farmhouse programming are available year round. If you are interested in volunteering, please send a Letter of Interest that includes a brief bio and summary of professional experience to info@yellowfarmhouse.org
