Little Cooks & Farmers

3 - 5 year olds with parent or caregiver

Tuesdays, February 4 - March 24

10am-11:30am

Parents or caregivers join their little one in the kitchen and on the farm to explore seasonal crops and recipes. Each class includes a hands-on cooking activity and an additional story, craft, or farm activity. Participants will receive recipes and tips on how to encourage their children to help in the kitchen and the garden.

 

$20/child per class, free for parents or caregivers

In this class, we’ll explore culinary and farming connections through cooking, crafts, or on-farm activities. Kids will learn about where our food comes from and develop valuable cooking skills as they prepare a seasonally-inspired dish.

In this class, kids will get outside to learn about the the activities and crops that define spring on a New England farm. Then they'll head into the kitchen to prepare a seasonally-inspired dish and enjoy a relevant craft, story, or game.

Cooking club participants will celebrate the sights, sounds, and flavors of spring in this hands-on class. Each week they will learn about aspects of our local food system or the tenets of resilient agriculture and then take the lead to prepare a delicious, farm-inspired dish featuring a different springtime crop.

This class offers parents or caregivers and their little ones the chance to experience the farm in all its summer glory. Classes include both a cooking activity as well as a farm chore or craft and are designed to expose children to new ingredients, flavors, textures, and recipes, while introducing concepts like seasonality and sustainability.

Summer is a time of abundance on the farm with each week offering wonderful new ingredients to learn about and enjoy. Through farm chores, crafts, and cooking activities, this class helps children understand where our food comes from and to develop a love for fresh food and home cooking.

Kids Cooking Club

Through activities out on the farm and in the Farmhouse kitchen, Cooking Club participants will dig into concepts such as sustainability, seasonality, and regenerative agriculture. Each week, kids will learn about different summer crops and practice kitchen skills to prepare a delicious, farm-inspired lunch. 

$50/class, includes lunch

Private Family Cooking Classes

Family members of all ages will enjoy rolling up their sleeves, sampling farm-fresh produce, and learning some new recipes. 

Private classes are $200 for up to 8 people. Includes a farm tour and a light seasonal meal. Email

Birthday Parties on the Farm

If your child has an interest in cooking or farming, consider hosting his or her birthday celebration at the Yellow Farmhouse. We are now accepting reservations for fall birthday parties for up to 12 children on weekday and Sunday afternoons. Guests will participate in seasonal cooking and craft activities followed by a shared snack and birthday treat.
