summer Programs for kids

Our Summer on the Farm program brings children ages 5-9 to Stone Acres farm where Farmhouse educators help them pick, taste and cook fresh produce. Over the course of eight summer weeks, we visit the laying hens, measure the temperature of the compost piles, inspect milkweed for monarch caterpillars, dissect flowers to see how their parts are designed, harvest and compare seeds and much much more. All the programs include cooking and by the end of the summer the children have made ice cream and berry compote, kale pesto and thyme salt, veggie slaw and ranch dressing and many more recipes.

Summer on the Farm

Our Story Time program for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers is a chance for little ones to listen to a story and play a game beneath the Yellow Farmhouse apple tree, harvest veggies fresh from our micro-farm, explore flowers, observe pollinators and sample farm-fresh snacks.
