Online Resources

updated March 22, 2020

There are countless online resources pouring in from organizations around the world, but it can be a challenge to sift through and track them. We have compiled just a few of our favorites below from organizations both near and far.

Food
Fiddleheads Cooking Studio is offering free online cooking classes through the end of March and virtual memberships for up to 3 class/week thereafter.

The Culinary Institute of America has instructional videos, recipes, and resources for home cooks looking to improve their skills as well as Food & Consumer Science/Culinary teachers who are looking for virtual content to support distance learning initiatives.

America's Test Kitchen Kids has opened access to their entire website to provide recipes, activities, experiments, and more.

Health & Wellness
The YMCA has launched free virtual health and wellness videos for a variety of ages and interests. You can learn more here and start taking classes here

The Chopra Center can help you reduce stress and promote mental health with free guided meditations that range from 5 to 25 minutes.

Education
The Stonington Free Library is uploading staff reading books, promoting digital collections, and is considering hosting virtual book groups. Similar resources are available through the Mystic-Noank Library and the Westerly Library.

The Cincinnati Zoo is hosting "Home Safaris" each day at 3pm on Facebook Live. Each day will feature a different animal and activities you can do from home.

Community Resources
Hope for the Warriors provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources. HOPE’s virtual services are open and they continue to serve veterans and military families around the world.

Avalonia Land Conservancy has a "Hike & Seek" program to make exploring their beautiful local trails more engaging and educational for young nature explorers.

Stonington Public Schools Food Services Department is offering breakfast and lunch for any students in the district (no pre-registration required) via a drive through from 8am - 10am at Stonington High School, 176 S. Broad Street. Call 860-572-0506 to sign up for delivery services, wait for directory and then press 8.
