Yellow Farmhouse is a food and farming nonprofit center dedicated to building a sustainable and equitable food future. We educate students, support teachers, and partner with farmers of the land and sea. Our goal is to foster broad change in how food is grown, produced, and distributed. Although rooted in community, we aim for sustainability and food equity for everyone.

Preserving the Bounty
We work with interns and volunteers to harvest surplus produce from farms and deliver it to meal centers.
Kojicon Conference
We facilitate an annual international conference of fermenters.
Our Mission & Work
Founded in 2017 and housed at historic Stone Acres Farm in Stonington, Connecticut, the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching about food and farming and fostering meaningful connections both locally and globally.
The Yellow Farmhouse Education Center accomplishes this mission by offering food education and cooking classes to kids and adults, hosting a variety of food and farm-based seminars, inviting teachers to the farm for professional development, and providing a variety of other engaging and enriching educational opportunities for a diverse audience.
By helping people understand how our food is grown and distributed, we believe we can begin to make necessary and impactful changes to help mitigate climate change, improve environmental and community health, and make nutritious food available to more people. The Yellow Farmhouse Education Center envisions a healthy, robust, and thriving local food system accessible and affordable to all.
