New this summer, for children 6 and under with their caregiver, our Nature Classes at The Folk School offer hands-on ways for little ones and their grown-ups to explore and connect with the natural world.

Our summer program invites children ages 6 to 13 to Yellow Farmhouse at Stone Acres Farm, where they can experience regenerative farming and seasonal cooking. Spend the morning in the fields and greenhouses, then in the kitchen preparing nutritious and delicious food. $50/day.

Each week, children and their grownups gather outdoors to dive into a seasonal nature-based topic. Through storytelling, hands-on projects, nature studies, and open exploration, children learn about and connect with the natural world. Fill your bowl with flavor in this hands-on cooking class where students will stretch noodles, cook grains, whip up tasty sauces, and add farm-fresh veggies to build bowls that are both delicious and nutritious. $50 per day, August 3 - 6
Make your point in these hands-on cooking classes where students will create everything on a stick—from savory kabobs and sweet cake pops to fresh fruit skewers and popsicles. If it can be served on a stick, we’ll make it. $50 per day, August 10 - 13
Snack like a champion in these hands-on cooking classes where students will make creamy dips, spring rolls, granola bars, quesadilla bites, and other irresistible snacks that are way better than anything from a package. $50 per day, August 17 - 20
Churn up the sweet in these hands-on cooking classes where students will mix custards, split bananas, blend berries, and layer sandwiches, all while savoring the last week of summer - one chilly bite at a time. $50 per day, August 24 - 27
