Stone Acres Farm/85th Day Events

Stone Acres Farm is a sixty-three acre working farm located in the historic coastal New England town of Stonington, Connecticut. The property's rolling hills, gardens, and acres of vegetable production are open to visitors. They celebrate natural farming, sustainable food, culinary education and the preservation of open space, cultural landscapes, and historic structures.

Young Cooks & Farmers Summer Program

July 8, 2025

Our Young Cooks & Farmers program invites children ages 6-12 to explore sustainable farming practices and seasonal cooking. Young participants will work alongside farmers and culinary educators to grow, harvest, and cook fresh produce, all while learning about the importance of regenerative agriculture.

Storytime on the Farm

July 30, 2025

For younger children, Storytime on the Farm offers a delightful experience for kids ages 3-7 and their caregivers. Gather under the apple tree for a charming story, a fun nature activity, and a farm-fresh snack. Storytime will be held on Wednesdays starting July 2, from 10AM - 11AM.

Sunflowers & Sake: Summer Cocktail Class

August 14, 2025

Join us to walk in the Sunflower field and learn about this unique, self-pollinating native flower. Then, gather in the Stone Acres formal garden for a talk and tasting with sake specialist and sommelier Janine Sacco. A selection of fine sake will be provided by Skurnik Wines & Spirits. Enjoy award-winning cheeses handmade by local cheese makers and canapes made with farm-fresh ingredients. Take home a seasonal simple syrup and a sunflower bouquet.

Culinary Excursions - August 19: East Haven High School Culinary Program in East Haven

August 19, 2025

Hosts: Heather & John Profetto at East Haven High. Join us this summer for day-long culinary field trips that explore the diversity of Connecticut’s local food system. Hosted by the Yellow Farmhouse, these excursions will take high school culinary teachers to farms and food businesses across the state for hands-on activities, tastings, and behind-the-scenes learning.

Pickle Me This: Pickling 101 Workshop

September 6, 2025

Preserve the early fall bounty in this hands-on pickling class with Kelly Caisse of KDCrop Farms, where we'll cover vegetable selection, creating brines, proper sterilization technique, and the hot water bath method. Say goodbye to wasted produce and hello to a pantry full of delicious, homemade pickles!
